This year’s International Astronautical Congress (IAC) will be held virtually as a CyberSpace Edition from 12 -14 October, 2020. The ISEB members are therefore not offering funding opportunities for students this year. Please visit this webpage in 2021 for opportunities to attend IAC 2021 as an ISEB student.
CSA (Canadian Space Agency)
Under this initiative, the CSA will provide grants to Canadian university students to support the registration, travel and living expenses associated with their participation in IAC. In addition, a subset of the awardees will also be offered a supplement to their grant to participate in the Space Generation Congress (SGC), taking place prior to IAC.
In order to be eligible, applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Canadian university at the time of the conference. In addition, applicants must have submitted an abstract to the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) for a technical or poster presentation during IAC.

NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)
Under this call, NASA sponsors American university students with stipends that support registration, travel, and per diem associated with the IAC. Additionally, a subset of these students will be selected and sponsored for participation in the Space Generation Congress (SGC), which will be held prior to the IAC.
This opportunity is for graduate students majoring in fields related to the IAF research topics. Students may submit technical (oral) presentations and/or interactive presentations. Students may submit abstracts that are co-authored with their Principal Investigators. However, the student must be the lead author, and only the student will present at the IAC. Students must be available to travel to the conference to represent NASA and their universities. Students must be U.S. citizens, who are attending a U.S. university and plan to enter a career in space science or aeronautics. Students are selected pending the availability of funding.

ESA (European Space Agency)
ESA offers European university-level students the opportunity to attend the IAC as a part of the ISEB Student Program. Sponsorship will support the registration, travel and living expenses associated with their participation in IAC for the duration of the congress.
In order to be eligible, applicants must be a citizen of an ESA Member State, Canada, Latvia, or Slovenia. At the time of application, the applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or PhD student in a university, studying or researching a subject which is related to one or more of the conference session topics. Applicants must have submitted an abstract to the IAC, which they intend to individually present.

JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency)
JAXA offers Japanese students a special opportunity to attend ISEB student program held during the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). This opportunity gives Japanese graduate and undergraduate students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of space field, to encourage international exchange, and to practice space education activities with fellow students from around the world. The sponsorship includes travel and accommodation expenses to and from the program venue, overseas travel insurance and registration to attend all ISEB student activities.
JAXA sponsored students are required to attend all activities conducted by ISEB and JAXA, including a preparation meeting at JAXA Sagamihara campus and space education outreach for a Japanese school in the neighborhood of IAC venue.

KARI (Korea Aerospace Research Institute)
Under this initative, Korean graduate students are offered sponsorship which covers IAC and Space Generation Congress (SGC) registration fee, round-trip airfare, VISA, insurance and accommodation throughout the IAC and SGC. Awardees will paticipate in all ISEB activities, including: special sessions with directors of space agencies, networking events with other participants, and lectures from experts.
In order to be eligible, applicants must be Korean citizens who are enrolled full time in an graduate program at a Korean university. The Applicants should be able to make a presentation and participate in a discussion in English and the applicants are required to attend all activities conducted by ISEB.
